For dogs we require DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza), Leptospirosis, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Rabies. You can call (504)218-4098 or e-mail: canineconnectionuptown@gmail.com to speak with a staff member about scheduling your dog for an interview. We recommend that after your dog passes their interview that they stay in the playgroup for at least three hours that day. Dogs who have not attended Daycare for 4 months or longer will be required to re-interview. If your dog has interviewed and is approved for Daycare please call or e-mail to make reservations.
An “Interview” is our behavior assessment for our Daycare program. Dogs must pass our interview before entering Daycare. We may remove dogs from our Daycare program if we feel that their behavior is not appropriate for group play or their temperament is not a right fit. Interviews are by appointment only so please call (504)218-4098 or e-mail canineconnectionuptown@gmail.com if you would like to set up an appointment.
We schedule interviews by appointment. You must contact Canine Connection about available times and days (504) 218-4098. Dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed/neutered to participate. Dogs who have not attended Daycare for 4 months or longer will be required to re-interview.
During an interview we introduce playgroup approved dogs to your dog one by one so that we can see how your dog reacts and interacts. We are looking for their ability to tolerate dog-to-dog interactions like greetings, play invitations, and are watching their comfort level while they interact. We want to make sure every dog in daycare can play and interact happily and safely.
Reservations are required for all of our services- boarding, daycare, and grooming. You can call (504)218-4098 or e-mail canineconnectionuptown@gmail.com to inquire about pricing and availability. Dogs that arrive without a reservation may not be accommodated.

Day Boarding is an alternate option to our daycare program, and ideal for dogs who don’t play well in Daycare or who prefer the company of only humans. Although Day Boarding doesn’t involve playtime, dogs who utilize this service will be let out during they day into one of our yards and enjoy one-on-one time with our Dog Attendants.
